Patients who have supplemental hospitalization insurance can request additional reimbursement from their responsible party. Which sometimes allows you to get a full refund.

Standard reimbursement nipple tattoo:

• For a unilateral nipple tattoo, you will be reimbursed €97.14
• For a bilateral nipple tattoo, you will be reimbursed € 194.27

The necessary documents to obtain reimbursement can be obtained from your health insurance company and your supplementary health insurance. These will be completed with us on the day of your treatment.

Depending on which mutual you can get reimbursed from 40% to 100%.

What is the procedure for treating a nipple tattoo?

• Nipple tattoo placement is done with specific color pigments. The natural color is imitated as realistically as possible.
• Prior to the placement of a nipple tattoo, an intake interview takes place. This interview and treatment can take place on the same day if desired.
• During this intake interview, our pigmentation specialist will discuss in detail the treatment plan for placing the nipple tattoo with you. The color, location and size of the nipple tattoo will be determined so that our pigmentation specialist can recreate as natural a nipple as possible.
• Thanks to the latest 3D/6D technique, we work with different colors. To create accents and shadows to mimic the natural nipple as much as possible, we can also pigment both nipples. This way, the difference will hardly be visible. For example, in a unilateral reconstruction.
• For pigmentation of the nipple, you should allow for a time frame of 60 minutes. Placing a medical tattoo can be compared to placing a regular tattoo.

After 1 treatment you often already have the desired result, should a second time be necessary, it is free if it is about a medical pigmentation after breast cancer, within 4 to 6 weeks after your first treatment.

Is nipple pigmentation painful?

• Medical pigmentation is less painful than regular permanent makeup. Just because you will be working more on scar tissue and this is usually less sensitive than normal skin.
• Also, most women have no pain when we perform nipple tattoos, precisely because the nerves of the skin were cut during the surgery and one therefore has less feeling at these areas. Mind you, fortunately that feeling comes back with age!
• So it is not completely painless but it is not too bad. If necessary, a numbing ointment can be applied.
• Application of permanent makeup during menstruation is often more painful due to hypersensitivity. Avoid alcohol and caffeine on the day of treatment.

How long does healing take for a nipple tattoo?

Your skin is completely healed after about 4-6 weeks. Afterwards, a touch up may take place to touch up the color.
