Pico Laser to the rescue!
Permanent makeup involves putting ink into the skin. Some of this ink breaks off, which is why it is called semi-permanent makeup. However, there is a chance that some of the ink never goes off by itself and remains in the skin.
We can remove these residual pigments with our latest laser technology.

How does spmu and permanent makeup removal work?
We remove the ink of permanent makeup and tattoos in the most efficient and safest way. This through our new laser technology: the Pico Laser.
The Pico Laser is one of the most powerful lasers for permanent ink removal.
Pico Laser
- The Pico Laser delivers pulses of energy to the skin at a rapid rate. This energy causes the ink in the skin to break down, creating very small pieces. These pieces are naturally broken down and disposed of by the lymphatic system.
- Because the pieces are much smaller than in aging standard laser treatments, your body is able to get rid of them faster.
- There is less risk of side effects because less heat is generated in the skin during laser treatment.

How many sessions do I need?
It depends from person to person how many treatments are needed to completely remove permanent makeup. In fact, this depends on several factors:
The ink type
Black ink is easier to remove than ink with a red, green or brown tone. Our Pico Laser is capable of removing all color tones, but this is a process.
The ink will slowly fade at first before it completely disappears.
Please note that we can never give a 100% guarantee that the tattoo or permanent makeup will completely disappear!
The depth
Not only the color but also the depth of the ink in the skin plays a super important role. Sometimes when the permanent makeup was done, multiple layers were applied, and the ink was applied very deep. The deeper the pmu, the more drastic to remove.
Skin color
The darker the skin tone, the longer it takes. In darker skin tones, there is naturally more pigment in the skin. Because of this, the treatment takes longer and you also need more sessions than someone with a lighter skin type.
On average, 2 to 7 sessions are required to remove permanent makeup, with four weeks between each treatment.
After 2 sessions we can already fairly well indicate how many more you will need. Not everyone wants everything of the permanent makeup gone. Sometimes people just want their eyebrows to be a little lighter or only want the wing of the eyeliner lasered away.
So all these factors play a role in the number of sessions you will need.

How does the treatment work?
Comprehensive discussion and advice
- After a comprehensive consultation and advice, we can get started. We start by cleaning and disinfecting the skin surface. Afterwards, the laser is set with the specific wavelength according to the color of the tattoo/pmu.
Duration of treatment
- The laser treatment itself takes only a few minutes per session.
Pain
- Permanent makeup removal can be sensitive and is not completely painless. Thanks to our cooling, the treatment will be more pleasant. We can also work with a strong anesthetic ointment or a numbing prick like at the dentist. At the time, we can discuss what is most appropriate for you.
After treatment
- After treatment, you may experience a burning sensation, similar to a superficial burn. This is a normal side effect, and this feeling disappears after a few days.
- The laser beam also often causes white ash discoloration on the skin, swelling and possible bleeding. This phenomenon is normal and changes to slight swelling, redness and crusting, depending on the individual.
- The skin is cared for afterwards with Flamigel and the dressing should remain in place for 24h. After treatment, apply Flamigel 2 times daily until the skin has fully recovered.
- You should not be exposed to water and sunlight for 24 hours after treatment. Afterwards, it is important to stay out of the sun as much as possible and wear sunscreen with SPF 50 protection factor.
